FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is your office accessible?

Our Woodstock office is on the ground floor and fully accessible. Online (video) psychotherapy services also are available across Ontario.

Q: How do you protect confidentiality and privacy?

Client confidentiality and privacy are a key responsibility in psychotherapy. Sessions are private and client data cannot be shared without consent, except in cases of "duty to report". We will talk more about this in our first session and ensure we answer any questions you may have about confidentiality.

All client records and personal data are securely stored in accordance with Canada’s privacy legislation and password protected and viewable only to the authorized therapist(s) - a Master's level Registered Social Worker or Psychotherapist.

Q: When will I see benefits from my therapy?

Many clients tell us they feel relief from the first visit. Other times, it may take a couple of sessions to learn about our client's needs and build rapport with them. We can’t guarantee you’ll feel better right away, but we do assure you that you’ll have our undivided attention, be accepted as you are, and we'll work quickly toward a solid action plan. You don’t need to pretend with us. You can be yourself.

Q: How do I get started?

Some clients choose to book a FREE 15-minute Phone Consult to start. Next, booking a psychotherapy session automatically generates an emailed intake and consent form as well as a friendly reminder(s) prior to your session. Feel free to make a list of questions/topics for the session.

Q: Do you accept health insurance coverage?

Many employee benefit programs cover some costs for psychotherapy provided by a social worker or psychotherapist, however not all do. Please check with your group benefits plan or insurance company to verify what type and amount of coverage you have. We will direct bill when possible. In other cases, you may pay initially and submit your claim through your insurance company for reimbursement. Provincial health insurance (OHIP) does not cover fees for our services at this time, but your therapy receipts can be used as an income tax deduction at tax time.

Q: What types of payment do you accept?

You can pay for your psychotherapy session in-person (Cash or Cheque), or online (Interac e-Transfer, Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and Diners Club) through our online booking system. Please check with your individual therapist about which insurance companies they are registered with for direct billing. We are continually trying to increase your options.

Q: What happens if I miss a session?

The full fee applies for missed sessions or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice.

Q: What if I have a question that isn't on the FAQ list?

Let us know!

"For true success ask yourself these four questions: Why? Why not? Why not me? Why not now?"
